Balance

The year is getting away from me and I am starting to see how difficult it is to balance work with family. I feel like CSUWPAI is being put on a back burner while I am trying to keep up with everything else. I am starting feel very nervous and uncomfortable about my conference commitment.

Renee, well it seems that balance has been an issue for many people this fall so I think you're in good company. As far as the presentation it seems to me (at any rate) that much of the hard work and organization has already been done - honestly it seemed to me during the summer that you were nearly ready then to present! Seems like all that is left is for you to do the project as you planned anyway and then collect your data. Compared to how well prepared you were in the summer I went into the fall feeling WAY behind everyone else. What you talked about seemed like such a great way to organize a cooperative learning activity that would benefit both the understanding of the process, and more importantly help these adolescents experience (and maybe understand) how to organize themselves. Hang in there - in my vastly inexperienced world you seem to be very close to the end, with the hardest part of the task already behind you.

What you will have to present will be useful, practical, and insightful.

I just wanted to say that I have been in the same boat so far this year. I've never been quite so overwhelmed by the start of a school year. That said, I am confident that you will be well prepared for the conference. Your inquiry group will help you. :)
